Album Review

DAS PACK is made of two super cool, crazy guys making music since I don’t know actually when. There’s very little information available about that to be honest. So I will stick to what I’ve heard. This is called ‘Macht doch was ihr wollt’ (Do what you want) and its opening ‘Pferdeapfel’ raises suspicions about the mental condition of the two parties involved. It’s giving you pictures of a mental institution throwing a party for its patients who are then doing the mad dance. ‘Weils Geils’ is more in the vein of rock-inflicted country while ‘Keiner Da’ just rocks straight ahead uncompromising. If a speed addict would have the idea to compose a song about him being clean it would probably sound like ‘Ich bin Clean’.

You will have to put extreme attention into getting the single words out of the stream that’s fired at you. In-between everything’s filled with violent bursts of metal. Starting with a rolling drum beat ‘Magisch aufgeladen’ turns into metal mayhem soon enough, complete with screams. ‘Vanillebär’ walks between flowers of sweet psychedelia and ground shaking metal. ‘Ich Warte’ brings everything to a calm end with mellow guitar work and a brushed rhythm as in jazz. To be frank, I don’t know what to give as a conclusion. While it’s musically solid I think the whole vibe is still too whacked out for me.
