EP Review

BLITZMASCHINE’s debut ‘Faustrecht’ was released last year and came as a real bombshell within the scene. Now the release ‘Useless Pain’ is following in order to bridge the gap between the last and the next album. Unfortunately, most of the material that can be found on ‘Useless pain’ are songs that are already released on ‘Faustrecht’, although the version over here are remixes or club versions. Only ‘Gotcha!’ is a new song - and can be considered as a foretaste for upcoming releases. This song goes straight forward and the songwriting seems to be more matured. There’s always a hassle while reviewing remixes - and in my opinion it’s very hard to do. So, my suggestion is to make up your own mind while listening to the songs. For my own part, I took a shine to the ‘Useless Pain (12” club mix)’, ‘Gotcha!’ and ‘Blondes Mädchen (Hardwire Mix)’. To complete the EP, BLITZMASCHINE made a video clip for ‘Useless Pain’ which can be found on the release. All in all, a solid EP… although fans might be used to the material, but in order to get recognized by “Newbies”, it’s a nice work!
