Album Review
The fresh and new band ANTI-MORTEM which hails from Chickasha, Oklahoma is the bastard son of groove monsters PANTERA and a modern version of MEGADETH (add a bit Ville Laihiala from SENTENCED to the mix considering Larado Romo`s voice). The band was formed in 2008. After many nights in the Smith family`s barn the band started to get more and more popular and even opened for bands like BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH. Reading the info of their Facebook page I realize that the band is very eager to get really big (how realistic this may be nowadays doesn`t seem to be considered).
The musical approach of this troop is very heavy and groovy (thus the mention of PANTERA). Only the vocal range of singer Larado Romo is used too little (exception: Truck Stop Special). I must admit that the band accomplished to surprise me with their sound and I have a great time listening to their debut. There`s more to come from these guys and I am looking forward to the next output. Support ANTI-MORTEM!
