The title-giving track of the EP benefits from two points: The first one is the varied play of the darkish atmospheric parts, carried by the gentle piano dabs and low atmospheric washes in combination with the laid-back electronic drums erupting into a powerful forward-pushing chorus. Second thing is Ria’s voice, adjusting to the prevailing moods and so sounds feeble and fragile one time; the other time shows a strength one wouldn’t expect of her. The Derek von Krogh Remix of ‘Unter dem Eis’ works out the more powerful parts of the song and rocks from start to finish. After so much rock it’s time for the purely melancholic side of life with ‘Zeit zu gehen’, a track that deserves the label “Rock Ballad” as it’s uniting the deep melancholy, expressed in the dark arrangements and chant of Ria leading to a powerful climax seeming like a clearance and saying “It’s time to move on, away from here to get to see myself in a different light”. Strings and a tiny piano melody lead us through the wistful world of ‘Louise’ which is imbued only for one time, for a short duration, by the sound of marching drums.
