Album Review

‘With Roots Above and Branches Below’ is the third accomplishment by metal-core act THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA who has proven themselves worthy of being consider musicians. Vocalist Mike Hranica said, "We're really excited for this album. It's definitely going to be darker, heavier, and more epic. Expect a much heavier, more metal record." While drummer Daniel Williams states that the new album will be wilder and crazier containing parts that repeat, like choruses, and James Baney says that the new album will be more mechanical, but still containing their same distinct style.

The album itself of course comes with 11-tracks of heart pulsing energy raving action that keeps the music flowing non-stop from start to finish. Beginning with ‘Sassafras’ which brings out that mellow but fast driven temp beat presented by the drumming skills of Daniel Williams while the vocals are well taken care of thanks to Mike Hranica who simply puts the whole environment into its proper placement allowing the music to come together letting the drumming and guitar tones work together creating an on-going sensational musical process. While ‘Danger: Wildman’ and ‘Louder Than Thunder’ take complete control of the whole operation and allows the vocalist to be more aggressive and present himself with a much more aggressive tone of voice sending off that hot rage as the rest of the instruments take over. Having this set do so well surely a fourth will be right around the corner.
