The Darkness & Helldorados
To Support their new album ‘Hot cakes’ THE DARKNESS were not only supporting LADY GAGA on her latest tour through Germany, the band also had one club gig during this time in Frankfurt! And they made it a special one.
Helldorados
The evening started with the HELLDORADOS from Stuttgart, Germany, who signed a worldwide record deal with Massacre Records in March. The band spent spring with recording their self titled album, musically moving somewhere between, as the band states itself, Metallica, Hardcore Superstar, the old Scorpions and ABBA. It took a while until Pierre Seidel (vocals), Chris Rusam (drums), Stephan "Steve" Tadic (guitar) and Gunnar Hofmann (bass) had the audience on their side. I guess having a setlist without a ballad would have been better. With their sleazy rock songs they finally had everybody warmed up for one of the best rock shows I have seen in the Batschkapp for a long time: THE DARKNESS. http://www.helldorados.com / https://www.facebook.com/HelldoradosStuttgart

The Darkness
Glam Rockers THE DARKNESS released their new album ‘Hot Cakes’ in August this year. Before they will be touring again in early 2013, the band supported LADY GAGA on their German tour. For a single headliner gig, they also came to Frankfurt to rock the crowd. Right after Justin Hawkins (lead guitar, vocals), Dan Hawkins (guitar), Frankie Poullain (bass), and Ed Graham (drums) entered the stage you could feel how comfortable the band was not just being an opener for LADY GAGA. THE DARKNESS is a LIVE rock band par excellence. And with an extensive setlist of almost 20 songs they did not leave any wish open at that night. So it was the expected enthusiastic "Hot cakes" show with an extravagant, entertaining, costume-changing and naughty-as-always Justin Hawkins. He found the perfect spots in-between the songs to interact with the crowd with the highlight playing a guitar solo right in the middle of the clapping crowd.
