Imagine Dragons, Nico Vega & Georg auf Lieder
The weather for today was not that autumnal as expected and the sun was shining bright on the beautiful medieval masonry. With over 5,000 fans the show was sold out and the masses were waiting in front of the citadel. 5:30 PM the doors open and some of the fans ran to their places at the first row. It was a nice festival feeling because it wasn't not dark yet. There were very young people possibly because IMAGINE DRAGONS is very famous for the song ‘Radioactive’ which was also used for a TV advertisement of the computer game ‘Asssasin's Creed III’.
But also some over 40 years old fans or parents with their children and obviously most of them were not from Berlin because some were looking at city maps to find the citadel. In the end the place in front of the stage was filled well.
Georg auf Lieder

Music & Performance
Georg had a funny little sign made of black gaffer tape which shows his band name on a white background. On stage he stands alone with his guitar. No band, no special light, no video installations... just him with a gentle pure voice. The lyrics are German and handle themes like love, wishes, encounters and memories. It seemed that he is no big man. Just like you and me.

Nico Vega
NICO VEGA is an alternative Rock band from Los Angeles with the band members Aja Volkman (vocals), Rich Koehler (guitar) and Dan Epand (drums). They were founded in 2005 (with the label MySpace Records) and gained notoriety with their song ‘Fury oh Fury’ which was used for the trailer of the computer game ‘BioShock Infinite’. More about the band: https://www.facebook.com/nicovega
Music & Performance
The presented songs of NICO VEGA were very different. Some of them more quiet, some of them more powerful and some more trendy. It was difficult to stuck the music into a special drawer. Aja has a kind of hipster style. She was moving very individually. The moves on stage were different and imaginatively but seemed rehearsed. It seemed as if they were acting a way to much.

Imagine Dragons
The Indie Rock band IMAGINE DRAGONS was founded in 2008 in Las Vegas. Their upturn is spectacular! Their single ‘Radioactive’ reached already platinum in Germany and their debut album ‘Night Visions’ is a global success. ‘Radioactive’ was also used for a TV advertisement of the computer game ‘Asssasin's Creed III’. Until recently, Dan Reynolds (vocals, guitar), Wayne Sermon (guitar), Ben McKee (bass) and Daniel Platzman (drums) were only scene known among experts. Here, IMAGINE DRAGONS act highly individual: powerful melodies, vocal harmonies and voluminous choruses. That Indie Rock is far away from the ordinary chart monotony. In their songs is so much joy in life, positivity and artistic intensity that you simply cannot escape. http://www.imaginedragonsmusic.com/ / https://www.facebook.com/ImagineDragons
Music & Performance
A very bassy entrance from the guys and the audience was getting out their mobiles. The stage was designed like a view from the space: everything dark and a round light in the middle of the stage looked like the moon. Dan started with a very strong voice and acted very loose and naturally. Wayne had a very special guitar in a hundred per cent gold look. They played also a cover version of THE MILKY CHANCE song ‘Stolen Dance’. The sky above the stage got darker and the mood of the people was getting better and better because the festival atmosphere changed into concert atmosphere, supported by very nice light effects on stage which were suitable to the songs. Dan talked in-between the songs to the audience: Grateful words to the fans and deeply touched about the fast success of the band. The people were singing all the time together with the band, especially in the song ‘Radioactive’. The crowd was at the peak! Unfortunately the sound engineer had an exaggerated deliberate and tuned the volume and bass a little bit too loud.
The playlist was well compiled. Fast and quiet songs in exchange. Dan repeatedly at the drums in front of the stage. Even the people in the back of the concert grounds wanted to see the beautiful boys on stage. They arranged the gravel on the ground to little hillocks to see more. Quite unique! The fans were leaving the citadel with a smile on their faces. A very nice late summer evening!
