EP Review

NINJASPARK is two Swedish guys who stayed children. They formed their project back in 2005. After six years they are back in news blocks with the Remix EP. This EP is a farewell present to fans since after six years on the forefront of modern dance music, the duo has decided to call it a day. Originally, NINJASPARK creates quite sad and even melancholic bit-pop decorated with samples. These samples give music unusual depth and make almost an 8-bit thing 3-dimensional. The four friend-bands BOY VS. BACTERIA, JSF, YEAH SOMEDAY and TWILIGHT ELECTRIC played around with four songs of Swedish musicians for the Remix EP. As the result it’s hard to recognize the originals. Sad compositions became jolly dance pieces. All remixers threw the thoughtful samples away, made the songs quicker and dancy, so they sound like a childish frolic.
