Album Review

This year belongs totally to LORD OF THE LOST. There wasn’t a magazine, which didn’t write about it, and there are every time some news or concerts of them. At the Amphi Festival, they opened the second day at the main stage, and even if they were acting at 12:00 and were going to perform just half an hour, there were a lot of people, visiting their show. The band already has its great fan base and even girls crying and dying for them. The show was very energetic and pretty impressive. Although some said their shows are much more worth to see, than to listen to their records. Surprisingly, the studio album by LORD OF THE LOST is much more quiet and calm as their live-performance. It is still possible to hear powerful guitars, energetic drums and nice electronics, but somehow this is just a background.

The band is described as the mix of HIM and RAMMSTEIN. It is true, that there are elements of both bands, but they are rather like oil-spots on the water surface. They are together, but not mixing. The first line belongs to the vocalist, who is considered quite fair to become one of the best vocalists on the scene. It is said about Chris Harms so much that it seems like one more praise will make you puke, as if you ate too much sweets and there is one more coming. But listening to him, it is really hard to stop to wonder about his talent, his magical voice and unbelievable charisma. But in general, it doesn’t matter if the vocals good or not, they should be the part of the whole composition, so the song sounds complete. For now the whole album sounds like it was made exclusively for Harms, but as he can’t just sing alone, they found some musicians who are giving the singer some musical background.
