Album Review

Music that comes from Great Britain tends to be the most rebellious sound of our days. No wonder, the current social situation finds its reflection in culture. And the pioneers of the national scene make any party look like riot. The mood like this took over the third studio album by KLOQ.

Social music might be a phenomena in our days. On the one hand the first purpose of this kind of music is to provide a sound canvas to everyday life of an ordinary person. In this meaning KLOQ is quite progressive and modern band. Even if 'Behind the Screams' won't replace any album by CELLDWELLER or ENTER SHIKARI, it will surely be a great compliment to musical collection of the fans of their projects. The musicians mute their bass-lines, drums and even the vocalist, who is normally shouting, to create the underground club atmosphere. The electronics can even transform the sound into restless visions, it is quite easy to imagine blinking stroboscopes or the headlights passing by on the night highway. In whole it is a great club dance music.

On the other hand in just eight songs KLOQ are able to convince the listener to shout out loud for his rights. Weather it is a political right or a right to be yourself - you will get it while you are in the 'Behind the Screams'-zone. It is totally your choice what to do with this right after you'll turn the player off. But with no doubt KLOQ gives a lot of inspiration and bit of a thought. With the opening track ‘The Gun’ the musicians would literally terrify with the gun in the face. ‘Headlines’, ‘We are now’, ‘Destroyed’ - those tracks are speaking for themselves. It seems like the next revolution is starting on the dance-floors.
