Performance
Every now and then Lars left his spot at the keyboard and stepped to the front of the stage. With the microphone in hand he blew us away with his powerful and dark voice. Whenever he started singing the atmosphere peaked. Juliane also impressed with her turns at the microphone even though she was a little in his shadow. All in all their show was a wonderful experience.

Terminal Choice

Chris Pohl is one of the essential figures of today's EBM and gothic scene. While his band BLUTENGEL is a lot more mainstream and not limited to the Goth scene, TERMINAL CHOICE (= TC) shows where his roots are. Chris started TC in 1993 by himself and released his first single “Totes Fleisch” (= dead flesh) two years later under the label Cyberware Production. The song appeared on several compilation albums and is to this day one of the favorite tunes of every Goth DJ.



In 1997 a couple of more members joined TC: Jens Gärtner (drums), Gordon Mocznay (guitar), Sven Louis Manke (guitar) and the pyro-technician Sebastian Pellmann. Their wide range of topics covers love, death and destruction and opens up ever new worlds to their listeners. To this day also the older work of TC is still very popular. Time and again they impress their fans with their show which is filled with bloody and pyrotechnical elements. TC have always played a mixture of electro and rock but on their new album NEW BORN ENEMIES they put more emphasis on the guitars and Chris' powerful and expressive voice. It is the first time we can experience how dynamic Chris' voice really is.



Music
Just like EoD, TC not only presented their new album NEW BORN ENEMIES but also played their older songs like “Be like me”, “Injustice”, “Animal” or “Collective Suicide”. The audience went crazy – but that was not unexpected. The fans liked the new songs very much though the new emphasis on the guitars still needs some getting used to for some. Personally I really like the new style. The covered song “Don't go” was the big hit of the evening and due to this fact also one of the encore songs.



Performance
Chris and the gang made us sweat. We on our part didn't grant them a single break although they may have needed one. But after so much time had passed since their last live performance, they had to make up for it. And they did – more than we could have wished for. We enjoyed their concert song by song. All four band members were in a very good mood and had a great time presenting their new album to their fans from Berlin. The boys of TERMINAL CHOICE moved so much, that all people had to move too. Chris seemed to be very happy to play in Berlin again. He told us several times "Thank you Berlin". I worked my way to the front rows and at some point in the concert I realized that Lars and Juliane from EoD were dancing right next to me and celebrating TC enthusiastically. During the chorus of “Don't go” all our hands were in the air and moved like one. That was the moment of a lifetime.



TC thrived on the atmosphere and after finishing their set list, stayed on and on, giving one encore after the other – even though they were all in a sweat. They played hits like “Rockstar” and “Armageddon” and watched the audience going crazy. When they finally left the stage, the crowd was not amused. They sent the keyboarder Jens back out and to the front of the stage to animate us which was completely unnecessary. Even without him we would have managed to get the band out to play some more. We shouted so loudly for more encores. Chris talked to Gordon about the next encore and then they played the new single “Don't go” once more.



The video projections at the back of the boys were a wonderful addition to the show. The pictures that were shown made a wonderful mood to me and the other fans. The affection of the videos was erotic. The combination of nice girls at the movie and the hot music of TC was great! It made the concert to a very special experience! I personally was interested in how the audience would like the new songs after having read that the opinions split regarding the new album. It was plain obvious that the new songs worked pretty well. TC, keep it up!
