28th March 2014
Revolverheld, Jacob Brass, Sebastian Lind

On this nice Friday evening we were on the way to the Sporthalle in Hamburg, together with many, many other fans of REVOLVERHELD. The band would play their for the time being last show on their "Immer in Bewegung" Tour in their hometown before they will start part two of the tour at the end of the year. The Sporthalle was more than half full with strained fans. But before REVOLVERHELD themselves would enter the stage, they brought along two support bands, JACOB BRASS from Germany and SEBASTIAN LIND from Denmark.

Jacob Brass

The concert started at 7.30pm with the German singer JACOB BRASS. The 26 years old musician from Munich was standing all alone and only with his guitar on stage. It was very dark, some blue and white light spots were directed at him. His music was very calm and sensitive, but the audience was listening carefully and the applause was quiet strong for him. The singer told the audience that he was very lucky to stand on the stage on this evening, because only some weeks ago he had broken his arm and was not sure whether he would be able to sing this concert. At the last song, JACOB BRASS was able to motivate the crowd to sing along. It worked out fine. JACOB BRASS published only one EP until today, and so it came that the show was over after 20 minutes and five songs. http://www.jacobbrass.de / https://www.facebook.com/jacob.brass.music

Sebastian Lind

After only five minutes, the next support band entered the stage. Now it was time for SEBASTIAN LIND from Denmark. He brought along one more musician for the keyboard and the guitar and a drummer. SEBASTIAN LIND himself sang and played at some songs another second guitar. He welcomed the audience in German, then spoke along on English. He seemed to be known by the crowd, they clapped along just when the first sounds came on and his applause was also very wild. SEBASTIAN LIND was an increase to Jacob Brass. He had more light and more performance in his show. The songs mostly started quiet, but rose to a very rocking sound. SEBASTIAN LIND plays since 2008 his electronica-pop and published three long-player, the latest one, ‘Waiting for someone’, in March 2014, only some weeks ago. The guys on stage played a bit over an half hour. After seven songs, they left the stage, but not without another big applause. https://www.facebook.com/sebastianlindmusik

Revolverheld

It took not even half an hour until the show went on with the main act REVOLVERHELD. They were accompanied by rhythmical clapping from their fans when entering the stage and started their part of the concert with ‘Immer in Bewegung’, the titel song of the new album and the tour. In their welcoming speech, singer and guitarist Johannes Strate told how REVOLVERHELD played eleven years ago in front of 70 people and now they are proud to stand in front of the same, only with some zeros more. About 7,000 people were gathering together this night to watch the show. Because REVOLVERHELD were founded in 2002 in Hamburg, it was a big honour for the guys and they put all of their energy into the concert. Except Florian Speer, who played bass in the band and left them in 2012, all the original band members were standing on stage, singers and guitarists Johannes Strate, Kristoffer Hünecke and Niels Grötsch as well as Jakob Sinn at the drums. Since the exit of Florian Speer, REVOLVERHELD did not change to a new bass player and so on stage for that part a guest player was organised.

When the best known songs, like ‘Ich werd die Welt verändern’, ‘Das kann uns keiner nehmen’ or ‘Neu anfangen’ came on, the fans were singing alone as loud as possible, but of course even at the songs which were only present on their long-players, the crowd was not to stop, like the band itself. For ‘Halt dich an mir fest’, guest singer Anna Depenbusch came on stage. In the original, Marta Jandová from DIE HAPPY takes over the female singing part. But without Anna Depenbusch, it would not have been sounded as half well as it was. The guys played crosswise through their four parts discography. After ‘Sommer in Schweden’, Joahnnes Strate asked if there was anyone in the audience who was the first time even on a concert. A little 12-years old girl from the first rows had birthday that day, and everyone around her held up their hands in her direction. Johannes Strate got the girl on stage and REVOLVERHELD all together were playing ‘Happy Birthday’ just for her. For the following song, he choose another girl who got on stage, too. With the both kids, the band performed ‘Spinner’.

For their latest single ‘Für dich lass ich das Licht an’, the band wanted the fans to hold up high their mobile phones to produce many, many little lights, while on stage it was getting a bit darker. At the end of the song, there was a rain of little red hearts coming down from the ceiling over the stage. After almost two hours, the guys left and entered the stage again for three encores, the very last song was one of their best-known ones, ‘Freunde bleiben’. Although the sound was not the very best and they had much more possibilities to use the screen behind the stage, the finale concert for the first part of the year from REVOLVERHELD was a great success. http://www.revolverheld.de / https://www.facebook.com/Revolverheld
