Burg Trausnitz, Landshut, Germany
30th August 2009
Schandmaul, Letzte Instanz, Eric Fish & Friends

On this not too hot but sunny Sunday we got on the way to reach the Burg Trausnitz where the Open air concert with SCHANDMAUL, LETZTE INSTANZ and ERIC FISH & FRIENDS should take place.

Eric Fish & Friends

Since 1999, the singer and musician Eric Fish whose real name is Eric Hecht, born in Treuenbrietzen, is on the way with his solo programme. He is best known as front man of the band SUBWAY TO SALLY which he joined in 1991. In 2007, his most recent solo album ‘Gegen den Strom’ appeared and during the current year, the documentation film "Fish Film Tour" was released. http://www.ericfish.de/

Music & Performance
Shortly after 4:30 PM Eric Fish (voice / guitar) appeared on stage with his friends Uwe Nordwig (voice / guitar), Gerit Hecht (piano), B. Deutung (cello) and Rainer Michalek (voice / guitar). The already numerously present listeners on the field were obviously convinced by the folk sounds which spread a pleasant Irish-Scottish mood. Unfortunately, after only 45 minutes everything was already over and the audience began to refresh itself for the next band at one of the food and drinks stands you could spot all around.

Letzte Instanz

We could experience the folk rock band LETZTE INSTANZ (originally "Resistance"), founded 1996 in Dresden, already in the spring after the publication of their new album ‘Schuldig’ in Munich live. http://www.letzte-instanz.de/

Music & Performance
In the meantime, the field at the castle Trausnitz was well willed with eager fans and the second band of the evening, LETZTE INSTANZ consisting of Holly (voice), Holly D. (voice/guitar), Oli (guitar), M. Stolz (violin), Benni Cellini (cello) & Michael Ende (bass), could begin. From the very beginning they had won hearts of the audience for themselves. It was sung, danced and banged. Towards to the end, M. Stolz jumped into the crowd and obviously enjoyed it. But also their performance came to an end and they left the stage after additions.

Schandmaul

1998 was the foundation year of SCHANDMAIL, a Medieval Ages folk-rock-band from the environs of Munich. Their latest album ‘Anderswelt’ was released in 2008; during the current year they published a live DVD ‘Sinnfonie’ which was recorded at their jubilee concert in Munich's Zenith in November 2008. http://www.schandmaul.de/

Music & Performance
As the sun set it was time for the headliner of the evening: Thomas Lindner (voice / accordion), Anna Katharina Kränzlein (violin / hurdy-gurdy), Stefan Brunner (drums / percussion), Martin "Ducky" Duckstein (guitar), Birgit Muggenthaler-Schmack (bagpipes) and Matthias Richter (E-bass / contrabass) of SCHANDMAUL entered the stage. With their music they succeeded in bringing Medieval Ages feeling into the castle and in creating an extremely pleasant atmosphere. The audience supported them enthusiastically.

The only drop of bitterness was the announcement of Thomas Lindner that the band will go now into the studio after the extensive tour and we will not be able to experience them live on stage probably till 2011 any more. Because the ways to the town were not lighted up partially, the satisfied audience went on home in the darkness after the show - but no one did care about this because of the successful evening anyone had before.
