On Sunday, I was on the move again: This time I travelled to Munich to attend the show of PROJECT PITCHFORK and their support act  LOST AREA…





Lost Area

LOST AREA was founded in 2003. All members of the band share the passion for sombre and atmospheric music. At the end of April 2010, their third album 'Memoria' appeared with wonderful artwork of Annie Bertram, the wife of the keyboarde who accompanied the band on tour. Her works were available at the merchandize booth, too. LOST AREA during their career already played together with bands like ROTERSAND, SITD and AND ONE. http://www.lostarea.com/



Music & Performance
At 8:30 PM singers Markus Bär (guitar), Andi Grundler (voice) and Jan Bertram (keyboards) entered the stage. While in the beginnings they were playing accompanying music to the talks of the present fans, they got into it more the course of their appearance, were able to attract the attention to themselves and to create a good mood. Unfortunately, the dance area was separated inside the Backstage Werk by curtains, which was probably the reason for the not so great acoustics. After 45 minutes the band cleared the stage then for Project Pitchfork and upon leaving they received lots of applause.

Project Pitchfork

The German Dark-Electro/Industrial band PROJECT PITCHFORK already exists since 1990. They are considered “master of the Electro-Goth-Music”, because they already published 10 albums, 6 EPs and countless contributions to other albums. Their newest album which was published this year is called 'Continuum Ride'. http://www.project-pitchfork.eu/



Music & Performance
After the rebuilding break, Peter Spilles, Dirk "Scheubi" Scheuber and Jürgen Jansen appeared on stage. Besides that, they brought had Achim Färber on drums and Carsten Klatte on guitar with them while touirng. Under vast amounts of fog they started to carry away the audience in the well-filled hall with their songs. With such songs as 'Timekiller' or 'Requiem', they delivered a varied mixture straight through all of their albums. The audience was excited and also the band had their fun. After one and a half hours they left the stage but returned for some encores to eventually leave the stage after blusterous applause.

This was really a musically successful evening once more, even if the light show was not quite friendly to the photographers. But the fans didn’t get a raw deal here..
