Founded just two years ago, UNZUCHT are real successful in the gothic scene already. The formerly voted “MySpace-Artist of the Week” was able to prove its talent on many great festivals like M’ERA LUNA, MASTERS OF ROCK and ROCKHARZ in the year 2010. This year on 20th April, they release their first official EP ‘Deine Zeit läuft ab’.

UNZUCHT deliver us a six-track strong EP as an introduction with their new label NoCut. The first track ‘Deine Zeit läuft ab’ completely satisfies my expectations. Stomping beats united with electronic sound and a catchy hook guarantee absolute enthusiasm. ‘Fleisch’ really surprises with clever arranged piano/ keyboard sounds a voice fluctuating from slightly distorted to almost clear with some nice electro beats. ‘Laio’ follows right on the heels, combining a mixture from the first two songs just as enthralling as the first Track with some slower passages where more attention is paid to the overall mood and the vocals. ‘Unzucht’ shows heavy guitar riffs alternating with hard drums and a rocking voice. Two other versions of songs from this EP follow at the end. First a LORD OF THE LOST version of ‘Deine Zeit läuft ab’ reveals a existing talent for slow songs and shows much emotions and a correspondingly soft voice. The last song from this EP is a remixed version from the track ‘Fleisch’ by FUNKER VOGT. Fat beats crush your ears, hard well-placed industrial sound structures ensure that you want to leap up and dance the entire night.

This EP is a fascinating mixture of many musical styles and varieties. UNZUCHT combines driving drums heavy riffs and real emotional keyboard segments with the unique voice of “The Schulz”. Unfortunately I mention that the remix version from FUNKER VOGT shows much more potential than the original Version. Some critics claim that some parts sound a bit squishy but that’s the way the band perform their songs and this is a real good way. An absolute worthy entry which makes more appetite for the whole album which will hopefully be released in September 2012.
