Album Review

UNZYME is, as they say themselves, a biomechanically enhanced electronic pop band from central Finland, combining the energy and melodies of rock songs with modern electronic soundscapes. ‘Override‘ is the new album of the Finnish trio who represents its style as very intricate term "Biomechanical Pop". Maybe, in some extent, UNZYME pioneers of this genre. Sound is very light, with pretty simple melodies. I would even call it minimalistic. 10 tracks run in the same breath. I can't speak for the whole discography of UNZYME, but the sound of the album ‘Override’ is somehow the arithmetic mean of APOPTYGMA BERZERK, NEW ORDER and MELOTRON. But first track, ‘Relay’, persistently reminds me of NICK KERSHAW's music. Summing up all abovementioned, UNZYME’s ‘Override’ is a sample of pleasant light music, nothing more.
