Album Review

The Swedish project WULFBAND should become an icon for the modern EBM-bands and for all of those who refer themselves to the old-school scene. The term “old-school” became a cheap trend, and normally this sticker today has nothing to do with the actual EBM of the 80s. WULFBAND not only know exactly what they are doing, but they managed to reincarnate the rough and sincere electro-body-music.

During the first play of the record the listener may have an idea that WULFBAND is just a joke. No really, who in our days would do this kind of stuff so seriously? But even if this is a parody – it is done with handful of love and respect. Everything is perfect about this release. Production is precisely good, the composition of the songs and the sound-design function as a time-machine – this sound is able to throw the listener back in time as simple as that. The vocals are exactly as it meant to be by the founders-fathers of the genre. The cutest thing about WULFBAND, that they foster even such details as German lyrics and hiding their own personalities. It’s all about electro-body-music.

The band already can be found in the same raw with DAF and NITZER EBB. And the reason for this is that they don’t copy, but living through this stuff. So if you are interested in this musical style and looking for a fresh, high quality music – three cheers for those “Swedish motherfuckers”!
