Album Review

X MarkS The Pedwalk link the current album ‘The House of Rain’ to constant quality and gentle changes from the preceding record, ‘The sun, the cold and my underwater fear’. The melodies and the sounds rest back far in history of electronic music. There is a renewed shift between dance floor and a relaxed chill-out. The vocals are split between Ni-Arb and Estefania, but at ‘The House Of Rain’, Estefania takes a more prominent position than ever before. I like this very much, XMTP is getting a bigger spectrum of the band to the listener since ever before. It shows a little bit more exotic sound design without ever losing focus on its human element.

You are searching for a frosty pounding EBM song? ‘Second Home’ is the answer, but it is immediately cushioned by flowing, elegiac ‘Frozen Light’. The anthemic ‘Far From Home’ is your song for singing along. It is the last piece with vocals and it takes to become an indie disco hit. The last song ‘Asynchronous’ feels like a last stroll through a nocturnal rain…

Conclusion: Varied and atmospheric electronic music that speaks to the head and abdomen.
