Available from 14th March, 2005

No doubt: with their audacious balancing act between classic, electronic pop and impressionistic soundscapes, Deine Lakaien are definitely Germany's most innovative dark wave formation and at the same time the commercially most successful one, too. After a three-year retreat, Alexander Veljanov (vocals) and Ernst Horn (keyboards/production) are now presenting "April Skies", their Capitol/EMI debut and also their most ambitious work so far.

This studio album, their eighth, offers all of those elements that have made the band big in their career spanning nearly 20 years now, but their is far more to discover, beyond sonorous vocals, hymnic melodies and melancholic soundscapes. "April Skies" surprises us with more guitars, opulent string arrangements, more dynamic and numerous new stylistic influences. The single release "Over And Done" offers a perfect introduction into the growing sound cosmos of this dark jewel amongst contemporary music. It is a magnificent song that catches you up like a maelstrom, with splendid chorus, furiously driving beat and whirring strings.
