Welle:Erdball

Do you like listening to the sounds of the eighties? Do you like to feel the spirit of the "Neue Deutsche Welle" (New German Wave) - and this modern readjusted, ahead in future...? Your right here at WELLE:ERDBALL! Tune in when they say: "Ladies and gentlemen, you are listening to WELLE:ERDBALL". WELLE:ERDBALL are: HONEY, A.L.F., the C64, MS. VENUS and PLASTIQUE . http://www.welle-erdball.de/ / http://www.myspace.com/funkbereit

WELLE:ERDBALL were announced without any support band. There might have been two reasons for it: First WELLE was supposed to play about 2.5 hours. Second the stage was so crowded with all their equipment that there definitely would not have been room for any support act.

Music
The show started with the obligatory FUNKBEREIT, followed by a diversified setlist which included six songs taken from the current album CHAOS TOTAL which was released in autumn this year as well as all time hits like WIR WOLLEN KEINE MENSCHEN SEIN, SCHWEBEN FLIEGEN FALLEN or ARBEIT ADELT. Another highlight was a cover version of ES GEHT VORAN (original from FEHLFARBEN). More than 2.5 hours the audience was pleased by the typical sound of WELLE:ERDBALL. The biggest vocal part was taken over by HONEY while ALF was working on the keyboards. But every now and then, the two magnificent girls took over the microphone – not only for some backing vocals but also for whole songs.

Performance
Backlit men behind white screens, rotating dancers, woven flags, play-guns, banners with different messages, several video-beamers and ironing boards on stage, balloons and sparklers within the audience as well as paper planes which were thrown down by the band - a concert of WELLE:ERDBALL never is boring. All the time you could find many things on stage fitting to the particular song. At the first part of the show the beautiful girls were dressed as usual in petticoats, but during the song ALPHATIER they change their clothes (visible behind the screens - the performed some kind of striptease -) and than they were dressed in sexy black tight cat-suits with big belts. At the beginning, MS VENUS and PLASTIQUE were holding up a screen while the male band members stood hidden behind the video screens. A video-beamer projected their pictures to the screen help up by the girls. This start was characteristic for the playful performance of WELLE:ERDBALL. During ARBEIT ADELT, HONEY was hitting a big barrel as known from previous shows. Sometimes the equipment didn't work as it should, but they didn't care. Altogether it was a great show with a lot of funny elements, a dedicated performance and a good interaction with the audience.
