This Italian band is one of the bands in the underground who needs a bit more attention. In my eyes they are fresh and very symphonic. I met front woman Antoinetta during a festival in The Netherlands and she gave me the last single. After this record they made a full album called “Outsleeping” what came out in 2003. This single are a good start for those who want to get to know them. The band started in the early ’90 and when you listen carefully you’ll recognise different sound elements like doom metal and symphonic rock. The band had a lot of problems with the distribution and record labels, but now they have their own studio, so they’re busy with a third record.

Song review

1. Dawning Gloom 5:08
The songs starts with unwieldy and low guitar riffs. The band create with the voice of Antonietta a thoughtful environment, very peaceful, what reminds me of The Gathering ( a band who’s really symphonic and emotional). Sometimes the song is a bit woolly, but in a positive way: the sound brings you to an other place. Her voice is not very high, but full of emotion. The song has a simple structure, but that
makes that you’re totally focussed on the voice and the lyrics. Near the end of the song I had the feeling that they repeat some parts too much, but also that makes the song strong, because you will keep that in your head. After the all the song is not too sweet, underneath there’s a strong emotion.

2. Scared for the last time 5:37 (single version)
This song is build up around low piano parts. You hear a simple intro but it creates the atmosphere for the whole song. Deep dark melody lines and again the voice of Antonietta starts with a melodramatic sound. I prefer her lower voice because it’s so naked. She shows a deep feeling when you listen good to the lyrics who are easily to follow. Far away on the background a detailed drum creates together with the more
higher piano parts a deep melody line. The structure of the song is focused around the voice and that makes it so impressive.
