GRASPOP 2012 - Guns n' Roses as second headliner

Rock giants GUNS N' ROSES, one of the greatest bands of all time, have been confirmed as headliners for this year's festival! Mark Sunday 24 June on your calendars: the Guns are coming and they won't be taking any prisoners!!

Few bands appeal to the imagination of hardrock fans as much as GUNS N' ROSES. Formed over a quarter century ago by members of Hollywood Rose and LA Guns, the band hit the big time early on with the 1987 release of their debut Appetite for Destruction. The album included two worldwide hits with Paradise City and the instant classic Sweet Child O' Mine. Fronted by Axl Rose and lead guitarist Slash, GN'R confirmed their status as a megaband in 1991 with the Use Your Illusion albums. Over the next few years, GN'R took their foot off the pedal until Axl Rose delivered a new uppercut with the 2008 release of Chinese Democracy. The only remaining founding member enlisted a number of top rate musicians such as latest addition DJ Ashba and now the Guns once again roam the world's biggest stages, which obviously includes GMM! In recent interviews there's even been talk about a new album for 2012...

Polls about the lineup are a recurring feature with every new edition of GMM. One of the hottest bands on the wish lists has always been MACHINE HEAD so you'll be pleased to hear your prayers have finally been answered! In the ten years since their last GMM appearance, Robb Flynn and bandmates have cemented their reputation as one of the top acts in metal and beyond. Their fantastic new release Unto the Locust and their blistering set in a packed Forest National last year are testament to what we knew already: it doesn't get much better than this. Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast!!

Also confirmed: GOTTHARD, ADRENALINE MOB, SEBASTIAN BACH, CANNIBAL CORPSE, THE TREATMENT and BLACK VEIL BRIDES. Unfortunately AS I LAY DYING won't be performing at GMM2012. They were forced to cancel their European tour.
