After more than 70 concerts on their European and US tours last year, CHTHONIC will be performing at internationally renowned music festivals W:O:A in Germany (Aug. 1st), Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic (Aug. 6th), and Summer Sonic in Tokyo and Osaka in Japan this summer.
Having performed twice at Wacken Open Air in Germany already, the Taiwanese heavy metal band CHTHONIC will have its third performance at the music festival—and for the very first time, it will perform on the W:O:A Black Stage on August 1st, together with members of the Chai Found Oriental Orchestra. An award-winning orchestra of traditional instruments and has performed with CHTHONIC in Taiwan (which were recorded on the Ián-bú DVD as classic examples of cooperation between heavy metal rock and traditional music). CHTHONIC will share this now with fans at W:O:A, and expand the four-member mini-orchestra to a 10-member full orchestra, hoping to give European audience something they have never experienced before.
The works of CHTHONIC stand out in the ring of heavy metal bands around the world as “Orient metal”. This time, to completely present such enchanting music style to European fans, CHTHONIC is now having intensive rehearsals with Chai Found Oriental Orchestra, which performs with a variety of traditional instruments including hena, ruan, box zither, pipa, yangqin, flute, and sheng. The collaboration will definitely bring a unique musical feast to fans in Europe.
CHTHONIC is one of the most outstanding East Asian heavy metal bands in the world that has participated the OzzFest in the US, Download Festival and Bloodstock in the UK, as well as Fuji Rock Festival and Loud Park in Japan. CHTHONIC is the best known heavy metal band in its own country Taiwan, and has performed at more than 500 concerts around the world in nearly a decade.
After tours in Europe and in Asia in the summer, CHTHONIC will return to Taiwan for its new movie project, and will switch into a full-gear mode to prepare for its new album at the beginning of the next year.
