notp logoThe Beach Boys and Johannes Oerding at the Night of the Proms 2015! The Night of the Proms 2015 is coined by stylistic opposites and an extraordinary musical spectrum. The first artists promise a tour of the very special kind. The Beach Boys, Johannes Oerding, Fernando Varela, John Miles and the choir Scala & Kolacny Borthers have been confirmed as the first names of the musical guest list. Europe's greatest classic-meets-pop festival will tour together with the symphony orchestra II Novecento which is under the control of Robert Groslot for 17 shows in 12 German venues in November and December.

The Beach Boys will transform the German arenas into a symphonic beach landscape. The Beach Boys impersonate the sense of life of an entire generation like no other band. The founders of the “Californian sound” who have written numerous hits during their career like ‘Good Vibrations’, ‘I get around’, ‘Surfin' U.S.A.’, ‘Fun, Fun, Fun’, ‘California Girls’ or ‘Kokomo’ will present their greatest hits accompanied by the symphony orchestra and will transform the German winter into a musical summer at the Night of the Proms.

The organiser was able to book a German artist with Johannes Oerding who has been playing German venues and clubs on a successful wave for three years. He was already on tour with Joe Cocker and the Scorpions, contributed the vice song to the Bundesvision Songcontest and delivered an emotional and very personal musical statement with his third and current record ‘Alles brennt’ which entered position four of the German charts immediately. For the first time he will present his hits accompanied by a big symphony orchestra.

Fernande Varela comes from Puerto Rico and discovered his love for classic vocals as a teen. The tenor was discovered on YouTube by multiple Grammy awards winner and producer David Foster. There has been no stopping since then. Shows in 31 countries have quickly brought along cooperation with huge stars like Barbra Streisand, Lionel Richie or Neil Diamond. The organisers are presenting Fernando Varela as this year's classic soloist of the Night of the Proms.

One of the backbones of the classic-meets-pop phenomena is apparently the choir of the Night of the Proms. This year, the “home choir” Fine Fleur is taking a break because the Belgian indie rock choir Scala & Kolacny Brothers was won for the 22nd German edition of the tour. Scala & Kolacny Brothers choose indie rock classics and indie songs and change them into elegiac hymns with breath-taking effects. The choir is usually only accompanied by Steven Kolacny on the piano. We are curious how the choir will sound like with the support of a whole symphony orchestra.

What would be the Night of the Proms without him and his prom hymn? “Mister Music” John Miles will prove his incredible talent on the microphone, guitar and piano again this year. Miles has not only been delivering the musical motto of the tour with ‘Music’ for more than 30 years but provides yearly highlights with his interpretations of rock and pop hits in the 3-hours-programme of the multimedia artwork.
