With their new album “In Dream“ EDITORS created an outstanding masterpiece. Their show in Cologne, as part of the European tour, got already sold out in advance. EDITORS - a big band for a big stage and the first headliner at the Amphi Festival 2016. A mandatory date for indies, goths, waver and everybody to become – with „Papillon“ in the ears and butterflies in the stomach.
Only few artist in the world leave footsteps in musical history as a true original – influencing countless others without ever being matched.TARJA TURUNEN is a formidable example of becoming such a unique landmark. Gifted with an enchanting powerful soprano the Finnish symphonic-rock-queen is about to make her first appearance at Amphi next year. Way overdue, we think!
With FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY we salute another legendary electro-warhorse. Resilient, adaptable but always one hundred percent FLA, Bill Leeb and his band return to “dis”-assemble Amphi again with due emphasis. Cranking it to eleven without remorse is also a specialty of Mr. Sami Mark Yahya a.k.a. FADERHEAD, who perfected the interplay of delivering uncompromising wrecking balls along with modern electro-pop-hymns conquering the dancefloor. The Swedish two-piece SPETSNAZ again grabbed EBM by its roots to nail a strong appearance on the stage. Reliable, relentless and somewhat delightfully oldschool – bodymusic, the way it´s meant to be played!
If you prefer it more progressive, Cologne wave-legends ESCAPE WITH ROMEO will be your partner of choice. On the latest long-player „After The Future“ mastermind Thomas Elbern surprises with unexpected electronic sounds on a trans-global journey through a post-apocalyptic vision of tomorrow. Talking progressive electronics, it also doesn´t get any cooler than CRYO, where Martin Rudefelt combines memorable vintage-sounds and retro-references with astounding ingenuity and a golden hand, creating demanding but rewarding tracks that wind deeper into your synapses with every single play, like a steam-roller with a grade!
Rounding up today´s package we bring on a further institution from Cologne, who actually didn´t play at Amphi since 2009: please welcome the gothic metal band MANTUS!
