![]() Title: Gravity has gone Artist: Conscience Genre: Electro-Pop Release Date: 2nd October 2009 Label: NewEx-Records Album Review CONSCIENCE exists since 1991 as solo-project of Rüdiger Illg. The new album ‘Gravity has gone’ will be out on 2nd October and will also be available as CD distributed via Echozone / Sony. In August 2009, Rüdiger already released an album, ‘Nothing has to be’. In December 2008, the new download single ‘Theatre of deception’ was released for free on the official website. I had not heard of CONSCIENCE before, did not know what kind of music to expect when I started to listen to ‘Gravity has gone’. When the first song ‘Theatre Of Deception’ filled my ears I was simply blow away! Talk about kick starting the record. Good lyrics and music with interesting guitars create a song that in my opinion indeed is a good first single from the album. ‘Perception’ is good musically but I don't like the vocals of the person that sings it. ‘Movements’ is a song that I simply loved from the first time I heard it. It has strong vocals and beautiful lyrics that easily get stuck on your mind “Let us run together while just trying to walk”. Some parts in it sound almost a little medieval in a way, hmm it's hard to describe the sound but I really like it. ‘The Future’ is another favourite song on the album; I really like the melody in this one, it’s different from the other ones. The last song on the record (not counting the two remixes) is ‘Being There’. It's a beautiful slow song with really good vocals and music. ‘Gravity has gone’ is a record with a lot of good different songs that in the end really works out just fine together. I like the way the songs are built musically with good melodies and cool music parts with for example synthesizers and guitars. Rüdiger Illg has a strong voice that I really like. I think CONSCIENCE in on the right track with this record and hope to catch them live somewhere someday.
