It’s three years since Bryan Erickson, mastermind of VELVET ACID CHRIST, better known as Hexfix93 caused some rumours with his last album ‘Lust for Blood’. But anyway whether these are true or not, Bryan Erickson is still a genius and precursor in his business. Well, actually it really is HIS business, because VELVET ACID CHRIST is beyond any comparison! With VAC, Bryan Erickson created an outstanding project by using music styles from EBM to Trip Hop in a non-comparable way. Especially the perfect use of film samples made VELVET ACID CHRIST one of the most unique electronic influenced projects nowadays. On this release, Bryan Erickson enriches the horizon of VAC with another component. First of all, one notices the lack of the typical film samples on ‘The Art of Breaking Apart’ and it seems as if that’s not all. This album is pretty damn calm with sounds never heard before on a VAC-release. Songs like ‘Killing a Stranger’ are reminding of the sound of SOL INVICTUS, which is pretty hard acoustic Military Folk, leaving the listener with eyes wide open. On the other hand then, Bryan j astonishes his audience with songs like ‘Vaporized’. All this is crowned by a dark and gloomy, nearly morbid voice adding a new, sad atmosphere to the songs. Just as all releases of VELVET ACID CHRIST, one has to ask whether the project’s mastermind is crazy or simply a successful genius. With ‘The Art of Breaking Apart’, Bryan Erickson demonstrates how fancy and varied songs can sound when music is composed with passion. VELVET ACID CHRIST is back for God´s sake! Tracklist 01.
