Cologne, the German city, harbouring that famous little cathedral calls all dark creatures back to the Rheinpark grounds again, for the Amphi festival is close to taking off again. Also in 2013, the organizers have thought of a diversified line-up to make the in parts long journeys some fans are taking on worth the while. VNV NATION and FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM surely are names to mention here first. But there are so many more to mention…
With its incredible live-programme, stylistic diversity and high standard in organization and the Tanzbrunnen Cologne, as one of Germany´s most sophisticated open air venues, the Amphi Festival always stood out in terms of comfort and elegance! A fan once summed it up nicely, stating: “Amphi is the S-class among the festivals!“, while author Christian von Aster formed the legendary phrase “Alles wird Amphi (All is Amphi)“.

Big Amphi Pre-Party at Alter Wartesaal
In best tradition this year’s big Amphi Festival pre-party takes place on Friday 19.07.2013 at “Alter Wartesaal”, close to Cologne´s main-station. DJ ELVIS (THE MEMPHIS) spared no efforts to recruit a neat line-up for you. Alongside DJ PETER C. and DJ FRANK AHDAFI, DJ STEVE NAGHAVI (AND ONE) and CHRIS L. (AGONOIZE) will provide you with the perfect soundtrack on two floors with the motto “Party for the Living“ vs. “Sleepwalker Night“. The party shall begin 9:00 pm. For attendees with Amphi Festival ticket/wristband admittance is 4 €, without ticket/wristband 8 €. Since the party was regularly sold out in the previous years, Elvis and his team put up an online ticket-order where you can buy your ticket in advance. Autograph Sessions

Jardin de belle Époque – historic & dark-romantic picnic
Although not an official part of the Amphi Festival and independent in terms of its organization, we would like to shed light on a very nice meet-up, which earned a lot of positive resonance last year. Beginning at 3:00 pm on Friday 19.07.2013, Marina Marisha and Natalia Le Fay invite interested attendees to the “Friedenspark” Cologne for a historic and dark-romantic picnic, called „Jardin de belle Époque“. Call the Ships to Port
The Amphi Festival 2013 will open on Friday 19.07.2013 with an exclusive event aboard the “MS RheinEnergie”, Europe´s biggest and most sophisticated domestic event ship. This special opening event features a programme with 3 live-acts of the Amphi Festival 2013, performing unique sets they never played before or which deviate from their regular festival setlists. The concerts will be performed while the ship cruises along the shorelines of the Rhine. After the live-shows, the ship returns to the boarding bridge around midnight, while an exclusive after-show party on board rounds up the evening. The opening event “Call The Ship To Port” is a part of the new “Amphi Festival Premium Box Set”, limited to 1111 units, and already sold-out.
Starting the evening, pianist Lars Arnold, also known as CLASSIC & DEPECHE, will interpret well-known Depeche Mode hits in a classic outfit. Subsequently our broadcasting station WELLE: ERDBALL is going to conquer the stage with a special transmission, called „Throwback Minimal C=64 – A journey to the beginning”. In celebration of their 20th band anniversary, H.O.N.E.Y. and A.L.F. will perform a special selection of early works, you will only hear that night on the MS RHEINENERGIE. While WELLE: ERDBALL also play a festival set at the Tanzbrunnen over the course of the weekend, we have another awesome act, confirmed only to play on the ship. Like nobody else in the electronic music genre, COVENANT know how to seamlessly combine modern beats with an elegant sound-design. With their major hit „Call The Ships To Port“, for example, they created a masterpiece which soon became mandatory for every successful party playlist. Inspired by this song, it is our great honour to have won the band around the charismatic Eskil Simonsson exclusively (!) for our “maiden voyage” on 19.07.2013 with the MS RHEINERGIE.

The weekend ticket costs 66 EUR, day tickets can be purchased for 49 EUR each day. The weekend camping ticket is available for 24.90 EUR.
