From the 27th to the 29th of July 2012, the festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary. Summer Darkness started off in 2003 as a dark underground music festival and has grown to an interdisciplinary festival for dark underground lifestyle over the last decade. Nowadays, Summer Darkness is a mixture of music, fashion, arts, market and dark underground dance nights. Always controversial, extremely photogenic and self-willed.
The festival organisation is proud to announce Combichrist and Suicide Commando as first headliners for this anniversary edition of the festival. Both are long time welcome guests, which have played the festival several times. They are top acts in the dark underground scene and will give away an exclusive Dutch show.
There is always a wide variety of genres represented at Summer Darkness, from the noise of Winterkälte to the experimental electro from Haujobb, who has not been in Holland for over fifteen years, to the leading act in darkwave Diary of Dreams. After a long absence in Holland, In The Nursery will make their Dutch re-appearance and Triarii, Sonar and Sieben will present their new albums during the celebration of a decade of Summer Darkness. Furthermore Vomito Negro and Straftanz are confirmed. More acts are to be announced. So keep your eyes and ears open!
Also this year the Gothic /Fantasy/ Dark Underground Market is centered around the beautiful gothic Dom square. The first exhibitors are already announced on our website, see Market Many fashion shows and diverse market stands are to be announced in the coming months.
