Dear Amphi Fans, the "IX. Amphi Festival" is over and without exaggeration it is ours to speak of the hottest festival of the year! With more than 16,000 attendants from over 30 nations sold-out for the fifth time, this year´s Amphi Festival began with the traditional pre-party at Alter Wartesaal and the new opening event "Call The Ship To Port" at "MS RheinEnergie". Aboard Europe´s most sophisticated domestic event-ship, 1,111 guests experienced an inspiring gothic river cruise along the Rhine with exclusive concerts by CLASSIC & DEPECHE, WELLE: ERDBALL (performing as 80´s synth-pop duo) and COVENANT.
With the Amphi-Cruise embarking on Friday, framed by dream-like weather, summer even put a few degrees on top of it for Saturday and Sunday, while more than 40 acts on three stages provided the ultimate entertainment from all gothic subgenres. No matter if you were in for electronic, rocky, mediaeval or romantic sounds, everybody was to find his own musical highlight.
Thereby the headliners of 2013, VNV NATION and FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM, drew the stylistic circle that encompassed top-acts like ALIEN SEX FIEND, ANNE CLARK, SUICIDE COMMANDO, PHILLIP BOA & THE VOODOOCLUB, PETER HEPPNER, AGONOIZE and many more, who spanned an arc from electronic dance music to atmospheric dark-rock. Further we booked a large number of artists who did not appear at the Amphi Festival so far (a.o. ATARI TEENAGE RIOT, DIE FORM, UMBRA ET IMAGO, STAHLMANN, CHROM and FABRIK C).
While sun worshippers took over the dreamlike setting of the BEACH-CLUB, the THEATER STAGE offered cooling shadow amidst the heat of the action with interesting specials such as the concert of the French formation ROSA CRVX, the Folk-Noir romantics ROME, pianist LARS ARNOLD with his CLASSIC & DEPECHE performance, WELLE: ERDBALL with a history contribution or DR. MARK BENECKE, who once more gave interesting insights into the work of forensic science in front of a full auditorium.
Promoters' sincerest thanks for this incredible weekend go out to all attendants for a phantastic AMPHI FESTIVAL 2013. You are Amphi! Also they would like to thank all bands, DJs, readers, merchants, aides, media- & clubpartners, street-teamers, sponsors and their tireless festival crew (who did hell of a job under these weather conditions). Pre-selling for the 10th anniversary on 26th & 27th July 2014 begins on 1st August 2013. Original festival-tickets will be available exclusively from the AMPHI SHOP at www.amphi-shop.de including the highly requested 5+1 group-tickets (buy six, pay five). Please consider that these group tickets are strictly limited and were sold-out after only a few weeks last time. So do not hesitate to secure your group-bundle right away, to get one ticket for the anniversary for free. As usual we have group-bundles for the weekend as for each day.
