Dear Amphi Fans, spring-time is here and so does Easter-time. Grey turns to blue while we cannot wait to finally rock the Tanzbrunnen with you again, as the Amphi Festival´s 10th anniversary is constantly coming closer on the horizon. As the pre-production goes on at full speed we are excited to introduce three additional artists for the line-up you don´t get to see every day. Also there are some warm-up parties and fresh tidings about our ship event “CALL THE SHIP 2 NIGHT“ to be shared.
NEW ARTISTS CONFIRMED: THE EXPLODING BOY | CORDE OBLIQUE | ECKI STIEG
The dark music scene currently undergoes a renaissance of its origins. Postpunk and wave are working their way back from the bat cellar of the 80s into the limelight, as a new generation of young musicians takes the spirit in order to combine it with contemporary influences. First in line, the swedish four-piece THE EXPLODING BOY recently impressed the collective press-league and their rapidly growing international fanbase by their latest album „Four“. Highly requested, we´re happy to announce the band to play at this years Amphi Festival.
Originating from Neaples, the italian formation CORDE OBLIQUE around mastermind Riccardo Prencipe completes this year´s musical offerings of the theater-stage with progressive-Mediterranean folk and classical elements. A divine dreamland full of romantic images, nostalgia, beauty and passion.
Apart from musical pleasures we have another reader confirmed. ECKI STIEG is back...and hell knows he is! As music journalist and host of the legendary “Grenzwellen“ radio show, back in the 1990s, Stieg belongs to Germany´s most important supporters and critical observers of the dark music scene! 2014 ECKI STIEG not only celebrates his return to the radio, he´ll also join the Amphi Festival to hold an entertainingly disarming mirror of razor-sharp essays against the scene and those who take themselves a hint too seriously.
With these three artists newly added to the bill, we have one position left remaining. The final artist for the Amphi Festival 2014 shall be revealed soon!

Ending this year´s anniversary festival in style, we return to the water with the final event “CALL THE SHIP 2 NIGHT“ on the MS RheinFantasie. This romantic night trip on the Rhine awaits with splendid musical guests in a classical outfit. First of all Mr. Ronan Harris, giving an exclusive “VNV CLASSICAL“ performance on VNV songs for piano and voice. Further SOLAR FAKE and SONJA KRAUSHOFER (of L´Âme Immortelle, Persephone & Come Divine) present special setlists tailored for the classical style of the evening. Further on 25.07.2014 the official Amphi Festival pre-party kicks off in an exclusive new venue, the "WARTESAAL IM ZOLLHAFEN“, located directly at the Rhine. The premises come up with 1500 m2 party space on two levels plus an impressive harbour-scenery. The club´s assets match top-class standard and offer the perfect platform for a nightly frenzy on the dancefloor.
