March 2016 is all about electronic music. With our mothership E-tropolis on Saturday, 05.03.2016, at Turbinenhalle Oberhausen and the E-Werk Ost Festival in Dresden, Friday 04.03., the next electro-invasion is about to break its way with two more top-class artists, appearing on both festivals: FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY & HENRIC DE LA COUR!
Talking about great achievements in EBM- and industrial music, there´s no way around FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY. Although speaking of „legends“ got a little inflationary recently, it is Bill Leeb and his fellow partners in crime, who earn said accolade with every note composed. Over the last decades merely few artists from the electronic genre maintained to uphold such constant flow of innovation while at the same time keeping the core identity alive and kicking, as it evolved. From the wild days of the 80s over the early breakthrough in the 90s to extremely complex masterpieces like the latest album „Echogenetic“, the unique style of mastermind Leeb has always been a reliable cornerstone to the discography of a band, that lived through it all and still has got so much more left to tell...
For many decades Sweden has proven fertile soil for excellent artists from various genres. Also HENRIC DE LA COUR, or HDLC, feels obliged to this tradition. As a songwriter and artist on stage he lives his lyrics with every syllable. Spaced out at times, yet strikingly familiar, de la Cour virtuously invokes the spirit of the early 1980s, when analogue synthesizers and New Wave became leading pop culture. But HDLC is much more than the sum of his parts. Foremost he stands tall as an authentic artist, who captures the audience with big melodies, sinister undercurrents and his charismatic stage presence! Mandatory for vintage aficionados!
