rockmeetsclassic2016 introPure goose bumps are guaranteed in spring 2016 again! World hits of rock music are fused with bombastic, classic music to an unforgettable, top-class show experience for the seventh time already. The Manfred Hertlein GmbH sends the Mat Sinner Band and the Prague-based Bohemian Symphony Orchestra on the sixteen greatest stages of the nation again, together with those personalities who have coined rock history with their voices forever. This time, Joey Tempest (EUROPE), Steve Walsh (KANSAS), Scott Gorham and Ricky Warwick (THIN LIZZY), Midge Ure (ULTRAVOX), Dan McCafferty (NAZARETH) as well as Andy Scott and Pete Lincoln (THE SWEET) are among the performers. The German metal queen DORO and the classic singer EILIKA have been confirmed as special guests.

ROCK MEETS CLASSIC has established itself as a successful trademark long ago which stands for very special show evenings. The bombastic symbiosis of classic orchestra, an excellent rock band and world stars excites auditors every year and lures a constantly growing visitor number to the shows. There will be 16 dates next year. The unparalleled, musical journey wants to top the sensational success of last year's tours which included performances of world stars like Alice Cooper, Steve Lukather (Toto), Paul Rodgers or Lou Gramm (Foreigner).

Joey Tempest – Europe
‘The Final Countdown’ cannot be wiped from the memory of whole generations. Joey Tempest and his band EUROPE achieved the commercial breakthrough with it. The single reached position 1 of the charts in 26 nations and was sold around eight billion times during the first two years. The same-titled album also became a worldwide success and was sold over seven billion times. The hymnal ‘The Final Countdown’, the commercial ‘Rock The Night’ and the sensitive ballad ‘Carrie’ are super hits which made Europe one of the 80s' rock idols.

Steve Walsh – Kansas
The song ‘Dust in the Wind’ (off the 1977 album ‘Point of No Return’) is also one of their timeless evergreens like ‘Carry on Wayward Son’. Both titles are counted as the most played songs in the American radio landscape to this day. Their records have platinum status. The band surrounding singer Steve Walsh have sold over 15 billion records in total. Singer Steve Walsh declared his withdrawal from the band in spring 2014. He played his farewell show in Sioux City on 16th Aug 2014 after 40 years of band membership.

Midge Ure – Ultravox
Midge Ure celebrated his greatest successes as the singer of the new wave band ULTRAVOX with hits like ‘Dancing with Tears in My Eyes’, ‘Vienna’ and ‘Hymn’ as well as a solo artist from 1980 to 1985 (‘If I was’). Ure was given the title of honorary doctor and the OBE title (“Officer of the British Empire”) for his social commitment. Nowadays, he tours successfully around the globe as a solo artist.

Ricky Warwick & Scott Gorham – Thin Lizzy
The Irish hard rock band THIN LIZZY is probably one of the most covered bands of all times. Songs like ‘The Boys are Back in Town’, ‘Jailbreak’ or ‘Whiskey in the Jar’ are classics par excellence nowadays and their records have been sold over 20 billion times worldwide. The live album ‘Live & Dangerous’ is considered as one of the greatest live albums until today. In memory of Phil Lynott!

Andy Scott & Pete Lincoln – The Sweet
THE SWEET produced 34 number one hits worldwide with timeless world hits like ‘Blockbuster’, ‘Hell Raiser’, ‘The Ballroom Blitz’, ‘Action’, ‘Fox on the Run’ or ‘Love is like Oxygen’ and with 55 billion sold records worldwide. Singer Pete Lincoln, formerly SAILOR, and founding member Andy Scott from Britain will revive memories of the 70s glam rock times in the context of the Rock Meets Classic tour.

Dan McCafferrty – Nazareth
NAZARETH are numbered among the first generation of the Hard & Heavy bands and coined after their foundation in 1968 with bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple or Black Sabbath the rock scene essentially. NAZARETH have sold over 60 billion records to this day and are counted beside Simple Minds as Scotland's most successful rock band. Dan McCafferty's piercing grater voice coined their great hits like ‘Love Hurts’, ‘Dream On’ or ‘This Fly Tonight’. Dan McCafferty left the band due to health reasons in August 2013. For Rock Meets Classic, he will stand on stage once again which meant the life to him and says farewell worthily to his musical career – big emotions guaranteed.

Doro – Very Special Guest
Doro Pesch is a living legend! The world has known that at the latest since 17th June 2013 when the “Queen of Rock & Metal” was given the “Legends Award” for the first time at the renowned “Golden Gods Awards” in London's O2 arena in England. Temporary peak of a career that has been alive and kicking for three decades. Doro can look back on a truly unique career in the music business. Doro, that means in numbers: gold and platinum awards for around 10 billion sold records, over 2800 live shows on four continents and in 60 countries of the world, 16 studio albums, four DVDs and numerous covers on all relevant music magazines.

Around 60 high-class artists will ignite a magnificent firework of hits in total. One can look forward to an extraordinary show experience which will delight older and today's generations of rock fans equally!
