The ink of the recent EDITORS headliner-announcement hasn´t completely dried, as we return to announce the next batch of bands already. Eight in number, today´s update adds an exciting mix of beloved Amphi veterans and five extraordinary artists to perform on our stages for the first time next year. In terms of wide screen electro you don´t get past PROJECT PITCHFORK. After more than twentyfive years they still kick any ass who´s brave enough to enter their lion´s den. Sometimes up to three drummers simultaneously lash the rhythm into the masses, relentlessly pushing the beat forward with irrestible force. Spectacular – smart – style-defining Peter Spilles and his men will plow the soil beneath your feet without remorse.
COVENANT-shows engrave into the mind equally impressive. The Swedish electro-flagship, which actually became an inextricable part of our festival history with their hit “Call the ships to port”, returns to Amphi in 2016 after a four-year hiatus. On their agenda: first class electro-pop with innovative sounds and timeless hymns.
Earthward in Zombieland, Neue Deutsche Härte old-hands MEGAHERZ open the hunting season, ready for the heart shot. Take care at the forest glade as they prefer to bring down the finest bitches Munich style, all along with „mega-heartly“ regards from Lex & co., who finally are to play their first Amphi show in the twelfth year.
Another exceptional band to adorn the 2016 line-up are THE BEAUTY OF GEMINA. Their brilliant blend of darkwave-, folk- and indie-rock elements always fascinates with unconventional harmonies and the charismatically sonorous voice of Michael Sele. No matter if they play acoustic or in the full rock monty, the Swiss are always precise like a clockwork and an absolute delight!
Ever since 2015 the horrorbilly genre arrived at Amphi. From the hairdo to the double-bass the BLOODSUCKING ZOMBIES FROM OUTER SPACE are locked and loaded for a full throttle ride into the land of the living dead. An insane rock´n´roll blast from Austria you should not miss. Instead EWIGHEIM consider themselves masters of the macabre, as nobody less than Allen B. Konstanz (The Vision Bleak) and Yantit (Eisregen) hide behind this doom-bearing dark-metal gem, which will play one of its rare festival shows for us.
Elegant, scintilliating and little banshee it wasn´t until short that LAURA CARBONE provided us with an offer we couldn´t refuse by coming up with her debut album „Sirens“. The sicilian-rooted lady from Mannheim (Germany) recently stirred up the new-wave scene like nobody else. Modern, uncompromised sound, paired-up with her mesmerizing voice combines with traces of The Cure, Kate Bush und Siouxie. Be honest...who wouldn´t find a soft spot for such intriguing offerings?!
Hand-picked by Eisbrecher captain Alex Wesselsky to support their upcoming „Volle Kraft Voraus“-tour in early 2016, Osnabrück based ONE I CINEMA are in for a full-grown storm. Young, handsome and extremely talented, multi-instrumentalist Marco Meyer and his men blast your ears with passionately edged modern dark-metal that crawls deep under your skin and beyond – precisely straight forward into your neck, opening the moshpit! ONE I CINEMA – more than an insiders’ tip for all who like it hearty!
