feuertalfestival2016 flyerThe Middle Ages are often associated with superstition, that is why the Feuertal Festival 2016 will be born under a special star on the Waldbühne Hardt in Wuppertal. It's the 13th time that the organisers call for a gathering under the banner Feuertal and on the 26th August as well, a number, which can be divided twice by 13. The Middle Ages fans are not unlucky with the bands that have been confirmed so far, though: SUBWAY TO SALLY and ASP will perform as headliners on the Waldbühne. While Subway to Sally have been a loyal companion of the festival since its second edition – STS will be there for the now fifth time in 2016 and front man Fish has been anchoring the Feuertal since 2011 – ASP are the stars of the Gothic scene par excellence. Their new record ‘Verfallen – Folge 1: Astoria’ which was released in October 2015 immediately climbed the top 10 of the German record charts, just like its predecessors ‘Fremd’ and ‘Maskenhaft’.

VERSENGOLD, the hope of the medieval folk scene, will be there, too. Their record ‘Zeitlos’ which was released in August 2015 was able to reach a pole position, namely 22, for the first time and it granted the band which was founded in Bremen in 2003 a bigger audience and increased medial interest. The line-up of both days will be completed by the dark rockers UNZUCHT, the medieval gothic band SPIELBANN, the folk alternative band DELVA, the Hungarian Irish folk band FIRKIN, PADDY GOES TO HOLYHEAD's singer and the obscure folk rock street gutter band KNASTERBART, a project of VERSENGOLD's singer Malte Hoyer.

The festival will be anchored for the already sixth time by SUBWAY TO SALLY's Fish at least on Friday. Whether there will be a guest moderation on Saturday, the day on which STS play, has not been confirmed yet.

Doors open at 1pm, beginning at 2pm.

The location is, as always, the Waldbühne Hardt in Wuppertal, camping is allowed like in previous years in the Freibad Mirke from 25th August 2016 to 28th August 2016, 2pm. The medieval market won't be missing either which gives the festival the atmosphere which has made the Feuertal a compulsory date for Middle Ages fans since 2003. Among garments, instruments and other medieval hardware, there will also be stalls which provide for the physical well-being – catchword mead. Of course there will also be a stage on the medieval market on which fire swallowers, jugglers and other artists show off their arts including the obligatory fire show.
