Alter Bridge & Support: Skillet

ALTER BRIDGE got a success story over an whole decade. Predecessor band CREED sold over 40 million albums worldwide. Then in 2004, they separated from their singer Scott Stapp. Only a few months later, the remaining three band members founded a new band, ALTER BRIDGE, with new singer Myles Kennedy and went on in the success: all four albums, ‘One Day Remains’, ‘Blackbird’, ‘AB III’ and the in October published ‘Fortress’, reached high international chart positions. The last world tour established them finally as super stars in the Modern Rock scene. After the members went on following their different artistic own interests - even the revival of CREED - they now are focussing totally on ALTER BRIDGE. Last year in October and November they fascinated their fans in Germany on their tour. Next to some festival gigs at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, they will give an exclusive concert in the Stadtpark in Hamburg in June 2014.

USA at the end of the last century. On the base of first Grunge protagonists like NIRVANA, PEARL JAM or SOUNDGARDEN, a genre named Post-Grunge follows up, which is more commercial. At the first, CREED was the most successful representative of this era. With three albums, the quartet climbed up the Olympus of Alternative Rock. Nevertheless, because of "personally difficulties", the band separated in 2004. Two months later, former members Mark Tremonti, bass player Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips on the drums announced the foundation of a new band. Together with former MAYFIELD FOUR singer Myles Kennedy, ALTER BRIDGE came up. Already in august 2004, they published their debut album ‘One Day Remains’. The powerful, melody pushed, dynamic rock sound stayed, but will be completed by elements out of Blues, Soul, Hard Rock and Heavy Metal.

ALTER BRIDGE are immediately accepted and celebrated on tours. Back in their home town in Orlando / Florida, they separated from their label. Without any contract, they rented a studio in Nashville on their own bill and produced the complex following album ‘Blackbird’ without any pressure in 2007. With the third album ‘AB III’ in 2010, they entered again international charts, with top 20 placements in the USA, Germany, England, Switzerland and Austria. An album out of big stylistic span wide and compositional complexity, as only a few rock bands can master. "But primarily, we are a live-band. We produce CDs for having a reason to be on tour" says Tremonti.

This statement is underlined by the live CD/DVD package ‘Live at Wembley’, published in 2012. ALTER BRIDGE are presenting themselves from their most intensive side. This recording deemed caesura for their continuous working process of the band. Temporarily, the members were following other projects. Mark Tremonti published his solo debut album ‘All I Was’, Myles Kennedy was the front singer on the last album of guitar legend SLASH, and Scott Phillips played with the metal super group PROJECTED on the album ‘Human’. Much more startling was the reunion of CREED in 2011. But this should not have any impacts on ALTER BRIDGE because their individual power is still unrestrained. At the moment, both bands are existing parallel. In October, ALTER BRIDGE published ‘Fortress’, which is the most successful album of them in Germany. It made it on place seven in the charts and clarified once again, how loyal the fans have been become all over the last years.
