Morrissey

Despite his cancer indisposition, the luminous figure of the music business will be touring in Europe this late summer and autumn and also perform on two dates in Germany. One show will take place at the Palladium in Cologne the day after the show at the Hugenottenhalle in Neu- Isenburg, near Frankfurt.

The career of this exceptional British artist started in the early eighties with the Indie-Pop/ Rock band THE SMITHS. The four albums produced in four years turned the band members into international superstars and many bands name THE SMITHS as their musical influence. When the band disbanded in 1987, MORRISSEY started his mercurial but still successful solo career. Already with THE SMITHS the lyrics he wrote were provoking, cynical and full of self-irony and as a solo artist he didn’t change that at all. Leitmotifs are being an outsider, animal rights, unrequited love, his love-hate for Great Britain, his disgust for several politicians and the British Monarchy. Already as a young boy of 6 he started collecting albums and reading very much, especially everything of Oscar Wilde, this was surely a ground of inspiration for his own creative work. In 1998 he moved to the USA, where he lived until 2005. MORRISSEY stands for stylish appearance and is known to be the British gentleman of the Pop music genre.
