lordofthelost swansongsThe Hamburg-based Gothic-Metal-powerhouse takes a fresh and new approach on „Swan Songs“: instead of massive walls of hard guitar riffs, strings and orchestral sounds take the upper hand. The band has transformed 13 Lord-Of-The-Lost-classics plus 8 brand-new songs that were conceived directly for this release into thrilling mini-symphonies. The show at the second Gothic Meets Klassik Festival has most definitely been one of the biggest highlights in the career of Dark-Metal-band Lord Of The Lost. The massive sound of a real orchestra provided the group's songs with such a massive surge of new emotions and sonic prowess that everyone attending the show, including Chris Harms and his lads, was swept away and gifted with one of the most intense concert experiences in a long time. It is needless to say that Lord Of The Lost instantly became obsessed with the idea of recording an entire release full of orchestral acoustic versions, to create something lasting out of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

"Swan Songs” is the result of this labor of love and contains 8 completely new symphonic songs that the band conceived and recorded only for this release, as well as 13 classic tunes that were re-arranged for orchestra. The result unleashes a cinematic intensity and marks an unprecedented degree of emotional power. As a combination of old and new material, presented in a completely new context, “Swan Songs” is not only marking the closure of an era, but also a new beginning and another facet in the versatile works of Germany's most creative Metal-group. “Swan Songs” will be released as a double CD and deluxe digital download and as a strictly limited fan set which contains a second double disc titled “Swan Symphonies” with orchestral instrumental versions of all songs, as well as an exclusive postcard set and a “Swan Songs”-pendant. This is the most intense episode of Lord Of The Lost's artistic journey to date, strictly adhering to the group's motto: always full of surprises, always 110%, never boring!
