Meesit expresses himself through heart-felt songs and minimalist arrangements. Fascinated by little imperfections and dusty sounds, he recorded vocals with a 1940’s American microphone, tracked guitars with a 100 years old  Austrian parlor guitar,  and added slight touches of untuned piano and electronic sounds.

Though this will be the first album under his own name, Mauno Meesit has previously released two records on German Accession Records under his electronic music moniker "Sinine". He has written music for several theatre plays and TV series, has been awarded and nominated at the Estonian Music awards and has featured on electronic pop and alternative charts since 2009. You can pre-order the album now and you will receive a signed copy: http://www.grainyrecords.com.

Adds Mauno: “I feel very inspired by acoustic instruments and those microscopic sounds that you can hear when you stop for a moment and take the time to listen to how the sounds play with silence. Silence is not emptiness, it always has its own sound that holds everything else together. I wanted to capture the feeling that I have when I am sitting alone with my guitar in a quiet little room while singing only to myself. I recorded the songs so closely and silently that the listener can almost feel as if I am singing the songs right next to him/her. That is why the upcoming album will be named Closer.”

The CLOSER album will be released under Mauno's own boutique label Grainy Records and it will be available in Vinyl, CD and Digital formats. Vinyl and CD will be limited edition only and every copy is hand numbered. CD covers are hand crafted from 2 mm carton and covered with blue book cloth. you can already listen to the new single "Dear Dawn", taken from the album: https://youtu.be/4azu6r3oni8
