TREMONTI are back with their second record ‘Cauterize’, which will be released on 5th June by Fret12 Records (distributed by Rough Trade). Next to Mark Tremonti (vocals and guitar), Eric Friedman (guitar), Wolfgang van Halen (bass) and Garrett Whitlock (drums) also appear. TREMONTI continue where they stopped at with their first record 'All I was' (2012). ‘Cauterize’ was produced by Michael 'Elvis' Baskette, a long-time friend and companion of the band. “We are extremely excited for the fans to hear this album,” says front man Mark Tremonti. “We feel it is our best work to date.”From the first riffs of the opener 'Radical Change' to the last note of the epic last song 'Providence', ‘Cauterize’ emphasises which development Mark Tremonti has gone through as a songwriter. His hard rock / heavy metal influences appear distinctly on the records, especially on songs like 'Flying Monkeys', 'Arm Yourself' and 'Sympathy'. The first single of the new work is the up-tempo track 'Another Heart' that was recently released on iTunes and immediately hit the top 5 of the US iTunes rock single charts. TREMONTI will present the record live, of course, however, the tour will take place without Wolfgang van Halen since he's on tour with van Halen. “I am still part of TREMONTI and very excited for the release of ‘Cauterize’, but unfortunately am unable to participate in the upcoming tour dates, both in the States and overseas due to my prior commitment with Van Halen for the upcoming summer tour in support of the Tokyo Dome Live In Concert album,” says bassist Wolfgang Van Halen. “Look forward to seeing all of the TREMONTI fans on the road as soon as my schedule permits!”
The tour will start off in April in the US and will come to Europe in June. The band will play some big festivals (Welcome to Rockville, Rock On The Range and Download) and besides own headliner shows, they will support SEETHER. Guitarist and song writer Mark Tremonti is known for his bands ALTER BRIDGE and CREED with whom he won some Grammys already. With over 40 million sold records worldwide, he is the mastermind behind hits like 'My Own Prison', 'Higher', 'Isolation' and 'Addicted To Pain' – to name but a few. With his extraordinary sound the musician has gained a faithful fan base over the years.
