aliceinvideoland letgoAfter a four-year long break, the electro punk band ALICE IN VIDEOLAND is united again. The band which has already reached cult status with their mix of electro, punk, pop and synth is a precursor of Swedish modern electro. The first single of the upcoming record will be released by Diket Records in May. “After four records and eight years on tour, all band members had the impression that we forgot how to have fun together and there was no fire anymore. That's why we decided to take a break and do something different. Now, the fun while making music is back again”, says Toril Linqvist, songwriter and singer.

Toril Linqvist and Anders Alexander began to write songs at the beginning of 2014 without stress and with the goal of simply having fun at the communal work. “That which began as fun became an entire record. The new material is stronger and has more heart than the previous one but it still has a lot of the unique ALICE IN VIDEOLAND sound” says Toril Lindqvist. ALICE IN VIDEOLAND was founded in 2003 and consist of Toril Lindqvist (vocals), Anders Alexander (drums, synthesizer, guitar), Johan Dahlborn (bass, synthesizer) and Martin Kenzo (guitar, synthesizer). The band has released four records so far, the most recent being ‘A Million Thoughts And They're All About You’(2011). The records were released in the US, Canada and Europe; and after almost 400 sold out shows in, among others, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, Austria and England the band has fan clubs from Moscow to Los Angeles.

The career had its present peak when Mercedes Benz used their song ‘Something New’ for an ad which could be seen everywhere in Europe on TV and in the theatres. ALICE IN VIDEOLAND were also diligently busy in their home country Sweden and became a fixed part of the Arvika Festival where they played the biggest stage like Depeche Mode, Kent and Kraftwerk. Since their break in 2011, the band members started other projects: Anders Alexander released two records with his solo project Slangbella, Johan Dahlbom became a member of Modern Love from Malmö, Martin Kenzo became a father and wrote on his own music besides that, and Toril Lindqvist wrote songs for her project Varje and lived for a few years in Austria.
