“Electricity” – Motörhead

Besides the release, the band announce the 40th Anniversary European Tour in celebration of their 40th anniversary in autumn with further international dates.

After Motörhead have made teeth chatter, bones break and ears glow with their Rock’n’Roll for 40 years it could be actually excused if the band was slowly wearing thin. Put the feet up once, relax a bit.... But it's Motörhead after all. And instead of relaxing, the band rebuffs such signs of disintegration from deep conviction with their 22nd studio record called ‘Bad Magic’ and says: kiss my ass!!! ‘Bad Magic’ kicks out the teeth of those who have dared to believe that it come differently with loud noise, pioneering spirit and deafening, wild rhythms and riffs. If such people actually exist they can only be advised to get thick earplugs, fall on their knees and beg for mercy since songs like ‘Thunder and Lightning’ and the extra loud ‘Teach 'Em How To Bleed’ come along with the usual destructive manner and show that Motörhead are as strong, evil, loud, merciless, regardless and 'goddam heavy' as ever. This way, the band draws on their finest repertoire of Rock’n’Roll spirit self-confidently which reminds of Motörmusic of bygone days.

It obviously pays off that Motörhead have written and recorded a record together in the studio for the first time in the era Kilmister/ Campbell/ Dee. This especially matters regarding the fact that the record was recorded during “live” conditions. There is the evilness of ‘Choking On Your Screams’ during which Lemmy gets to be in an omnipotent peak form vocally, ‘Electricity’ with a harsh punk attitude and Phil Campbell's probably best solo works of recent years whereas ‘Shoot out all your lights’ strikes especially because of Mickey Dee's diabolic, ear-piercing drumming which paves the way for Lemmy Kilmister. Besides, Queen's Brian May has honoured the guys with a guest appearance on ‘The Devil’ including a brilliant solo.

‘Bad Magic’ which was produced by long-time producer Cameron Webb in the NRG studios came into being after several years of international success which may have been the most successful after their last release 'Aftershock'. Moreover, Lemmy decided to accept that he is also only made of flesh and blood and as mortal as everyone else. That's why he changed his lifestyle so that he could get a get on his health issues and that's why he is skinnier, stronger and meaner like never before. His own performance on ‘Bad Magic’ ranges from one of the most unique and wide-reaching performances he has ever delivered. In the ballad ‘Until The End’ he provides us equally with explanations and intentions to the most simple but important things which life has to offer. As if this wasn't enough, the record presents us a superb interpretation of the Rolling Stones classic ‘Sympathy for the devil’ and everyone who has two functioning ears should know after that that ‘Bad Magic’ is the best Motörhead record of the last two centuries.

Additionally to the record one can be excited about Motörhead coming back on tour in the second half of 2015. From the middle of August there will be a North America tour with Anthrax which ends with the Motörboat Cruise which starts on the 28th September in Miami, Florida and ends on 2nd October in Nassau, Bahamas. The Motörboat Cruise awaits with a top line up with among others Slayer and Anthrax in order to name a few of the many. It is followed by the 40th Anniversary European Winter Tour which begins on the 15th November in the Le Zenith in Paris and ends on 6th December in the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland. Further tour dates will be released shortly.
