diekrupps v metalmachinemusic1991, a long time before RAMMSTEIN appeared, DIE KRUPPS set the pattern for electronic music with tight rock riffs with their groundbreaking album ‘I’ including the Industrial Metal classic ‘Metal Machine Music’ - not only in Germany. The series of numbered long-players was continued by ‘II - The Final Option’, which led to chart positions for ‘III - Odyssey of the Mind’ und ‘Paradise Now’ in the official European Top 20 with classics like ‘To The Hilt’ and ‘Fatherland’. DIE KRUPPS paved the way for American Industrial Metal Bands becoming more popular on the German music market.

The crucial momentum for this musical crossover is based on the collaboration on ‘I’ between Jürgen Engler, founder of DIE KRUPPS, and the Trash Metal Band ACCU§ER from Siegen who were later signed to Engler’s label ATOM H. After two decades their drummer returned to DIE KRUPPS for replacing the rhythm machines during live shows. Another important fellow in the 90ies Rock period was Lee Altus (HEATHEN then, EXODUS now). The tight guitar sound paired with floating sequencers made DIE KRUPPS an incarnation for innovation. Their special music mix, best described as “Metal Machine Music”, makes their sound timeless. After 20 years it is still a guarantee for filled dance-floors and energetic live shows.

DIE KRUPPS will return with their new release ‘V - Metal Machine Music’ even harder and with more guitars on August 28th. DIE KRUPPS have never arranged such brute guitars and tough sequencers but with this album their stylistic circle is complete. You will experience this in the upcoming shows. Besides vocalist Engler, the line-up is completed besides the KRUPPS-machinists Ralf Dörper (synthesizer) and Marcel Zürcher (guitars) by Volker Borchert of ACCU§ER (drums) and Nils Finkeisen (guitars).
