System of a Down, Support: The Pretty Reckless

SYSTEM OF A DOWN are in Germany again! Their exclusive headline show will be in Berlin and they will perform on stage at the festivals Rock’n‘Heim (17th August Hockenheim) and Rock im Pott (18th August Gelsenkirchen), too.

After a five years break Serj Tankian (vocals / keyboard), Daron Malakian (vocals / guitar), Shavarsh “Shavo“ Odadjian (Bass) and John Dolmayan (drums) came back on stage in 2011. They are one of the most famous hard rock bands for more than 15 years now. They justified a very special sound between Heavy Metal, Punk Rock, Hardcore and Alternative Rock. SYSTEM OF A DOWN are like a machine gun set combined with psychedelic and folkloristic American moments. The four musicians achieve that with uncommon instruments like mandolin, bouzouki or sitar. The content of their songs are special, too: In most of their songs you can find accusatory against politics or social grievances. They are known for their singles ‘Toxicity’, ‘Chop Suey!’, ‘Aerials’ or ‘B.Y.O.B.’. In their musical carrier they won a Grammy, an echo and a MTV Europe Music Award.

They took advantage of solo projects while their break. Tankian published four highly exciting solo albums and launched together with RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE guitarist Tom Morello, the political platform “Axis of Justice”. Malakian and Dolmayan worked on their side project SCARS ON BROADWAY. They spend their time in some different art projects like a comic publisher, too. Now, at the moment of the reunion, we would expect that a new album will released. But that’s insecure. “It will happen, when it happens.” says Tankian in autumn 2012.

So we will see what happens. First at stage in august!
