Fields of the Nephilim, Support: In Legend
Rejoice, dear fellow `Moonchild´-ren, for there will be `Dust´! The iconic Cowboy Goth Rockers FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM from Stevenhagen, Great Britain, will be gracing the stages here in Germany at the end of November. On the 26th, they will turn the Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen into a witch's cauldron filling the air with lots of stage fog and their unique, sombrous sound. After playing at the Blackfield Festival in summer 2014 and enchanting their audience at this year's Wave-Gotik-Treffen, the enigmatic band around vocalist Carl McCoy will finally be back for four gigs.
Founded in the year 1983, the NEPHS celebrate over three decades of existence in the world of metal, gothic, and industrial music, blessing their devoted following with classics, such as, `Preacher Man´, `The Watchman´, `Dawnrazor´, `Moonchild´, and many more. In July 2014 McCoy announced on their website that new songs were in the making: “Now is the chance for me to let go and release some new Nephilim tracks which have been constrained to the studio for some time. Trying to concentrate the work and thoughts down to a simple single objective is always a difficult practice but that’s the nature of the beast… easy to find the beginning but always hard to reach the end. […] We are finally at the stage of recording and compiling the most important elements created and gathered.” During their 30th Anniversary Celebration concerts in London last year, they've presented for the first time some new material since 2005's memorable album `Mourning Sun´. However, the release of a new record yet remains shrouded in darkness as we await the giants of Goth Rock to mesmerize us on their upcoming live shows.
So, put on your Cowboy boots, boys and girls, dust your black wardrobe with white flour, and get ready for the NEPHS!
The tour was originally planned for November 2015 but had to be postponed. Here's Carl McCoy's statement: "We are sorry to inform you that the Fields of the Nephilim German tour planned for November 2015 has to be postponed. These shows form part of a carefully planned release package for new materiel from Fields of the Nephilim and due to matters beyond the band’s control the main release date has been moved. Consequently we have no option but to move the shows in line with the new timescales and look forward to seeing you all next year”
