MAXIMO PARK are celebrating their 10th anniversary! Four special shows have been confirmed for Germany, so come out on 9th December, if you want to see the band from Newcastle, UK, in Cologne's Essigfabrik.
Founded in 2005, they've sold over 2.5 million records, have reached the UK Top 10 three times by now, and were awarded silver, platinum, and double platinum records. Without doubt, MAXIMO PARK are one of the most important and influential Indie bands of the British tradition. Their role models are Wave and Post Punk heroes such as THE JAM or XTC and the art rockers ROXY MUSIC. Creating their very own sound MAXIMO PARK always remained distinctive, even at times of the Brit-invasion when almost every band that wrote halfway decent melodies was declared a successor of FRANZ FERDINAND.
The fact that their first three records were released with Warp, a label that is actually known for its pioneering work in the realms of Electronic music, is also quite telling about MAXIMO PARK's stylistic individuality. Up to this day the band hasn't stopped experimenting giving their song a special form and particular sound. And especially playing live has always been very important to MAXIMO PARK; they are one of the bands that are playing the longest tours till exhaustion. Now it's time to reflect on what they've reached in the last ten years. The concerts of the anniversary tour will celebrate their debut album ‘A Certain Trigger’, which MAXIMO PARK will play in its entirety, and selected singles and rarities.
