THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN will release their long awaited new studio album ‘Damage and Joy’ via ADA / Warner Music on 24th March 2017. It is their first release since ‘Munki’ from 1998. THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN, leaded by the Reid brothers Jim and William, reformed in 2007 for the first time and played the Coachella Festival. They were touring regularly but still it needed some time until the musicians finally decided to record a seventh album.
Works at ‘Damage and Joy’ started in September 2015 with producer Youth, who added bass and a certain amount of diplomacy to the recording sessions in London, Dublin and Granada, Spain. Alan McGee afterwards was finally the first one who excitedly announced the works on a new JAMC album to the world. Besides the Reid brothers, tour drummer Brian Young and former LUSH bassist Phil King can be hear don the album. The album release will be accompanied by a tour, leading the band also to Germany for four dates.
