Billy Talent + special guests

“What are you afraid of? Snakes, spiders, planes? Maybe it’s your own mortality. One thing that is for certain though is that we all have our fears. But I guess the question is: Do your fears motivate you or do they stand in the way of your dreams?“ With these words, BILLY TALENT are starting the YouTube trailer for their new album, ‘Afraid Of Heights’, which will be released on July 29th. The whole text, which is worth it to be heard, is a manifesto showing the Canadians from a new side: adult, more mature, more determined, harder, more straightforward. The new record is the toughest of the band, which has sold more than a million albums in Germany alone. Four years have passed since the number one album ‘Dead Silence’ came onto the market. Four years, in which so much happened, in which BILLY TALENT had to ask very basic questions. Not least since drummer Aaron Solowoniuk could no longer actively take part in the album recordings due to his MS illness - replacement was found with ALEXISONFIRE’s drummer Jordan Hastings.

This album is about battles, the inner as well as those with the society in which we live. It is about values, tolerance, all that should be self-evident today. It is about asking questions, about friendship and loyalty, about taking responsibility, and it is about consciously choosing to take things that do not fit us and which do not represent us. ‘Afraid Of Heights’ makes this determination clear. With their fifth studio album, BILLY TALENT show clearly that development is always possible even after 20 years of band history. The album creates the balancing act between old-fashioned Punk Rock sound and a broad Rock sound. With all the important thoughts that the band makes, one thing is by no means too short: The mentioned manifesto ends with the words "It's about the power of Rock'n'Roll." This is the promise of BILLY TALENT when they come on a big tour through Germany in autumn. BILLY TALENT will donate 1 € per ticket in cooperation with charity organization "Plus1 pro Ticket". The donations of the German shows go to F.U.MS. The band is official supporter of Viva con Agua.
