Like every year on the Whitsun weekend Leipzig is flooded by thousands and thousands of people as it’s time for the Wave Gotik Treffen again. What once started in a venue called “Eiskeller” (Today Conne Island) with about 1.500 people has developed to an event with probably 20.000 visitors and still counting. Goths, Punks, Metal heads and so many others from all over Germany and beyond come together on that weekend to enjoy their favourite bands, have a chat with friends or visit one of the numerous events surrounding the festival because the Wave Gotik Treffen isn’t just about the music. It also offers a wide bandwidth of other social activities, so you can either go listening to a reading, visit a medieval market or a club and lots of other things. There will be something for everyone.

All over the city there will play bands, projects and single artists performing on more than ten stages - from the old vaults of “Moritzbastei” up to large concert halls. The program covers the wide range of dark music: from Electro-Pop to Goth-Metal, from EBM to Neofolk, from medieval music to Industrial. But as mentioned Wave-Gotik-Treffen is more than just a music festival: there will be a medieval market place and a pagan village; there will be authors reading, performing arts and films. One of the big halls on “Agra”-fairground (the wide place of the German agricultural fair) will turn into the biggest Gothic-warehouse of the world for four days. The most fascinating thing during the Wave-Gotik-Treffen is the unique atmosphere - Gothics from all over the world are celebrating peacefully and with relish their gathering. Tickets

Event Ticket
4-days ticket for all events during the 17th Wave Gotik Treffen Whitsun 2008 for 58 EUR in presale (incl. presale charges). The event ticket includes the authorization to use the following public transports (Cable Cars, Busses, Regional and City Trains) of the MDV ("Mitteldeutscher Verkehrs Verbund") Zone 110 from 9th May 2008 12:00 PM to 13th May 2008 12:00 PM (without special routes). Like every year there will be extra tours of the Line 11 until wee hours especially for attendees of the Wave Gotik Treffen.

Parking Vignette
In order to use the parking places on the Treffen Area, a parking vignette for 15 EUR (incl. presale charges) for the whole time of the festival is necessary. Important! Without a vignette you’re not allowed to park at the area.

Obsorge Ticket
Limited to 9.999 tickets for the price of 21 EUR (incl. presale charges) with the following goods & services:
- Use of the camping grounds
- Silver Disc “Artists of the 17. Wave Gotik Treffen”
- “Whitsun Messenger” - The program book for the WGT
Important! Without an Obsorge ticket the entering and the use of the camping grounds is not possible. The Obsorge ticket is only valid in combination with an event ticket and has to be bought for each person separately.
