empireindust aplacetorestEmpire in Dust will present their debut album ‘A Place to Rest’ in October 2015: Diverse, catchy and quite edgy – that's how the indie-electro-pop mix of electro, e-bass and rock to techno beats presents itself. Manuel's and Alina's vocals speak of once meaningful things – and of a search for a place of pause. Empire in Dust put the listener on a strained and comfortable rollercoaster of sounds and emotions congenial to autumn - those days between the summer euphoria and winter tranquillity: Many of the songs on ‘A Place to Rest’ sound optimistic, moving forward. But if one listens attentively, they also make one pensive: the diverse lyrics deal with the pursuit of something greater, of the good and perfect – in different life situations. But it's also about its failure and of the detection what counts and stays in the end.

Like the music on ‘A Place to Rest’, a lot of people are full of energy and want to move something. But some are restless, following excessive ideals in vain and losing themselves in them. The actual intentions are forgotten. And the self? A stranger. The stories in the songs want to remind to always take some time and space and to let life pass in its true tempo for a while there. The debut of the three Berliners has been influenced by indie pop and rock musically. The e-bass stays the only plucking instrument; warm synth sequences and spaces dominate the soundscape. Harmonious compositions meet a thorough sound which has been roughened in order for the music to stay interesting and catchy in the long term.
